This past May, a Laguna Beach artist reached out to me via my Instagram page to photograph her artworks for the New American Paintings Competition. Her works portray spiritual figures contrasted by modern day SMS jargon, yet they coincide in a way that feels right. Take a look at a few of these and leave a comment below to let her know what you think.
The lovely folks at Simard Bilodeau Contemporary invited me to shoot their exhibition at the opening night of the LA Art show! They featured works from world renowned contemporary artists such as Larry Lewis, Mailo, Yalda Sephapour, Jon Seeman, and Baucan. Shooting this event was inspiring, considering many guests had traveled from across the globe to meet emerging artists, add pieces to their collection, and to represent their governments abroad. Have a look at some of the highlights. I am sure it will make you want to attend next year's show!
Working with Simard Bilodeau Contemporary has been one of the highlights of my career. Guy Simard and Eve-Marie Bilodeau are exceptional in that they always keep their guests entertained while giving life to their international gallery and the art it holds. Their signature collection of limited edition bronze sculptures and original paintings is both authentic and unique. These gallery owners have chosen an exclusive group of predominately American and European master painters and master sculptors to showcase their works. With high-standards and strict criteria, their artists have been selected for their impressive credentials, aesthetics and talent.
Since January 2017, the gallery has relocated from Laguna Beach to downtown Los Angeles. However, our relationship continues.
Larry Lewis carries his dark weight upon the canvas. Scattered throughout his paintings, you'll find historical symbols in relation to its imagery. A story is told both above and beneath the surface, one only need to look a little closer.
On this day, we enjoyed a live session with Kira where she demonstrated her talent on her latest sculpture. Several months later, we would witness the finishing touches.
Francis Bauçan is an abstract artist from Montreal who blends various short strokes to create images hidden to the naked eye. Many viewers fail to recognize distinguishable figures in his imagery upon first glance. However, the more you view his work, the more that is revealed.
In the summer of 2016, I had the pleasure of capturing Kira's fine art sculptures at Simard Bilodeau Contemporary's Laguna Beach gallery. Kira is an Armenian-American artist whose inner creativity is guided by her unique metaphysical experience. Her limited eyesight and her open heart combine to create these one of a kind pieces sought after by wealthy collectors both in the United States and China. Explore the images below and visit here to view the rest of pieces I photographed. They are available for purchase while supplies last.
