The Hotel Bel-Air is a magical location in Los Angeles tucked away in the hills and neighborhoods of Bel Air. The entire outskirts of the hotel is a self-contained, well-manicured botanical garden, fit with bridges, ponds, miniature waterfalls, and resident swans. Quit looking at me swan! The Bride & Groom chose the outdoor Gazebo for their intimate ceremony of 20 guests. While the large grass park near the Gazebo and pond can definitely fit more people, the layout of the grounds suggests it is better suited for an intimate gathering versus a larger celebration. From the tall building that towers overhead like a steeple, to the outdoor gazebo, this hotel is definitely an awesome place to have an intimate wedding ceremony and reception.

This lovely couple flew into John Wayne Airport from Seattle in late Winter for an isolated and beautiful beach Elopement in Laguna Beach. Diver's Cove on the North side of main beach offered them just the intimate setting for which they we're looking to elope.
While second shooting a celebrity wedding in Palm Springs, CA, I saw someone who didn't necessary fit the bill. He had a long grey beard and a stoic demeanor as he drank whiskey from his chilled rocks glass. Before I had the opportunity to introduce myself, he offers a warm handshake. "Hi, I'm Uncle Matt." As we chatted, he mentions he had a farm near Wichita, Kansas, and that I was welcome anytime. Us being in Southern California, and a long way from Kansas, our promises of meeting up seemed little more than enthusiastic pleasantries. That was, until I found myself taking a road trip through Kansas!
Here are the photos I captured from us feeding the cows and walking through his favorite part of his private land that he calls, "paradise."
Little Corona Del Mar Beach, just a short walk from Corona Del Mar State Beach, is the perfect intimate spot for a small couple's shoot, family shoot, proposal, or even just a nice play to catch the sunset. If you find yourself in Orange County near Laguna Beach or Newport Beach, these small rocky tide pools are definitely worth a visit!
